"COAST TO COAST" - CATRIONA TAYLOR

Catriona Taylor graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2006 after having pursued a career in the theatre and literature.
Since graduating Catriona has had several solo exhibitions, including the Park Gallery, Falkirk, and Tweeddale Museum, Peebles, as well as group exhibitions at the RSA, SSA, VAS, Leith Gallery and Edinburgh Printmakers.
Whilst on an Artist Residency at the National Library of Scotland Catriona was selected to be one of two “homecomers” for SpringFling to make a site -specific installation in a barn in Dumfriesshire. This year she was awarded a CABN/Creative Scotland Visual Artist Award to make a short film about following the Cross Borders drove Road on horseback.
Her work is influenced by Scottish land/seascape and particularly Scottish history, maps and poetry. She works in a variety of media, including installations as a way of expressing an idea. For this exhibition she has put together a sensitive, mixed media exhibition including, collages, driftwood, text, paintings and prints, drawing on a love of Scotland's coast, landscapes and maps.
